2. Transfering mushroom culture onto sterilized grain

In this step, you should cut a sample of mushroom culture (mycelium) and relocate it onto the sterilized grain. It will help your mushroom culture to grow out effectively and finally taking over the whole jar.

3. Putting the grain into a suitable substrate and fruiting container-

Usually, a substrate incorporates straw, wood chips, or compost and you need a specific substrate as per the requirement of the species of mushroom you are growing. However, in this step, the grown spawn can be utilized to immunize a substrate on which the mushrooms will ultimately produce. Make sure your substrate is sterilized.

4. Allowing the mushroom mycelium to eat all the substrate

In this step, let the mushroom mycelium consume and eat all the substrate. Once it is done, you can go for inducing pinning.

5. Inducing mushrooms pinning. (pin is little mushrooms)

You can see the mycelium knots will convert into pins in this stage owing to the less temperature and high humidity.

6. Mushrooms fruiting.

When the pins will expand and grow larger, eventually a button enlarges to a mushroom. It takes 18 to 21 days after casing to get harvestable mushrooms. Make sure the environment is properly maintained so that a healthy substrate can produce mushrooms.
